XY-textile

Exploring music through textile

The XY-textile is a large textile interface use to compose and play electronic music. By its size, its texture, its flexibility and its transparency, this textile interface involves the whole body in the musical interpretation. Like a music score, the textile patterns gives to the composer the ability to play every sounds and sound controls by simply touching them and moving along these representations. Thus, for each music composition, a graphical music score is carried out. This multisensory interface is promoting the combination of graphics and sounds to design intuitives and playful user experiences. Created in collaboration with graphic designers and composers, theses interfaces enable the exploration of sound through textile.
